Target group

Entry qualifications               

B.Sc. degree or equivalent in agriculture; employment in seed potato propagation; Professional experience: 3 years.

Finance      

Course fee : NLG 3,750; Accommodation: at additional cost of approx NLG110 per day. Some fellowships available from the Netherlands Fellowships Program (NFP) via the Netherlands Embassies - see Training Support Opportunity No.98/01 - early application recommended.

Objectives : To acquaint participants with the latest theory and practice related to seed potato production systems. Subjects: Diseases and pests; varieties; conservation; mechanization and Irrigation; field inspection; laboratory analysis, potato seed inspection, follow-up programs.Models of instruction: Lectures, group   work, field inspections, demonstrations. Cooperating organizations: Research and training institutions of the Netherlands Ministry Agriculture, Nature Management and Fisheries; Dutch Potato Bureau (NIVAA)
